Teachers Reunion   [21. Feb. 2010 - 22:00]

For the third consecutive year, a Teachers' Reunion was organised by Pointers for the retired teachers of the school on 21 February 2010, and was attended by about 90 retired teachers and 70 Pointers.

As before, the teachers attended the event with plenty of enthusiasm; the warmth that filled the air was almost palpable. PWC volunteers left no stones unturned to make sure that their teachers were well taken care of. This included providing car lifts for those who requested for it, welcoming them with a rose at the entrance, making arrangements for soft drinks, with comfortable sitting arrangements in a plush AC Hall, neatly decorated with flowers and colorful posters up all around, and explicitly expressing profuse gratitude to the teachers for making us what we are today!

After a welcome address, a two-minute silence was observed in memory of those teachers whom we lost last year. A brief write up was read out on behalf of PWC to apprise them of the identity, agenda and the goals of PWC; this was done especially to clear up any confusion a few teachers may have had on these issues.

Many Pointer doctors addressed the gathering, pledging their support for the teachers. Teachers also stepped up to the microphone to share their thoughts on reuniting with their ex-students. The overall interaction was very gratifying. Lunch was appreciated individually by every single teacher. After lunch, light vocal music added to the magic of the afternoon.

A small gesture on our part seems to yield huge returns every single time. The teachers are always so moved by these expressions of love and care. Their blessings are what keep us going!
