Legal Camp   [17. Jan. 2010 - 22:00]

A legal camp was organised for our retired teachers to consult experts for their various legal needs. The camp was conducted by two ex pointer lawyers – Sri Aniruddha Dasgupta (1970 HS) and Sri Kaushik Gupta (1988 MP).

The camp was organised at the chamber of Sri Aniruddha Dasgupta. It started at 10:45 am and continued till 5:30 pm. Sri Aniruddha Dasgupta and Sri Kaushik Gupta attended to the teachers, discussed their concerns, and advised them appropriately. Follow up actions were also planned.

Fifteen teachers had attended the camp, with a variety of complex civil and criminal cases, which were weighing upon them heavily. The Pointer lawyers were successful in providing the support they needed. This was evident from the relieved looks on their faces they exited the chambers, in sharp contrast with the anxiety-laden demeanours they went in with.

The entire support staff at the lawyer’s chamber was present throughout the day. They were extremely responsive and attended to the camp activities tirelessly. Tea, coffee, and other refreshments were served to the teachers who came in for the consultations. At any point in time, about four or five PWC volunteers were available at the camp site to assist with the management of the operations, while others were on the road, picking up te teachers from their homes and dropping them back.

Like all other PWC activities, the level of enthusiasm was very high and involvement of members, intense.
