Earlier today, Pointers Who Care organised a Dental Camp for our ex-Teachers. The attendant doctor/dentist very graciously offered his expert consultancy to all teachers on a complimentary basis. Followup services were made available at a substantially discounted rate.
prior to the event, PWC Team members had volunteered their time and efforts to call up the Teachers and shortlist those who have moderate to severe dental problems. Arrangements were made to provide them with conveyance for attending the camp. The Teachers were very happy to attend the camp, where the facilities were outstanding and the equipment, state-of-the-art!
Many Teachers had a number of common dental issues. For each Teacher who attended, a file was created. Following the Puja vacations, the treatments will continue at the stipulated discounted rates. The PCGs concerned will continue to provide all necessary support and liaison between the doctor's office and the teacher.
The doctor in charge, a true Pointer in spirit and action, refused acceptance of any kind of honorarium!
