In respectful memorium of GEETA GHATAK AUNTY
(23 January 1931 - 17 November 2009)
Noted Rabindrasangeet exponent, Smt. Geeta Ghatak, was a teacher of Music in South Point School from 1954 to 1994.
Students fondly remember her for her melodious voice, pleasing personality and, above all, her beaming smile! She actively participated in organizing all cultural programmes of the school including Foundation Day and Annual Functions. Multitalented Geeta Aunty was a great dancer and had acted in the Bengali film Meghe Dhaka Tara.
Though she was bedridden for the last few years, Aunty never lost her passion for music. Volunteers of PWC visited her regularly and she was profoundly touched to reconnect with her ex-students.
