The Medical Symposium was a first of its kind for Pointers Who Care. It was an intense, information-packed, interactive session arranged for our teachers, in which the expertise and the knowledge-base of the health care specialists among our ex-Pointers were brought to serve the needs of the teachers. The programme was conducted in a professional manner, with talks, multimedia presentations, and Q&A sessions, interspersed with several rounds of refreshments, and an opportunity for the teachers and the membership of PWC to socialise at the end of the event. A Mystic Baul Music Evening "Hridmajharey Rakhbo" was presented by Pointers Who Care to celebrate Poila Baisakh, the start of the Bengali New Year. Our teachers, along with PWC members and supporters and their families, were swept off their feet by the soulful renditions of the different forms of Folk Music of Bengal by the duo of Bauls -- Kaushik and Antara. For the third consecutive year, a Teachers' Reunion was organised by Pointers for the retired teachers of the school on 21 February 2010, and was attended by about 90 retired teachers and 70 Pointers. [Click here for photos.] Read more » |
Medical Camp (Cardio) [21. Feb. 2010 - 22:00] |

A Cardio Camp was organised by PWC for the ex-teachers of the school and conducted by Pointer Dr. Saumitra Ray (1982 HS). About 13 teachers in need of attention were thoroughly checked by Dr. Ray, who meticulously went through individual cases, scouring through historical and diagnostic reports. PWC also arranged for house calls by Dr. Ray for teachers who could not attend the camp. [Click here for photos.] |
