Pointers Who Care celebrated Teachers' Day today!  Our Teachers not only received Greeting Cards from us, but the PCGs made phone calls to their respective Teachers (and other Teachers as well) to convey their greetings. Considering how, as students, we didn't think about the school administrators much, we thought this would be a good time to make up for our past (juvenile) mistakes. So, we showed our appreciation for Indranath Guha Sir, Malati Sengupta Aunty and Vincent Aunty by presenting them with bouquets. We are so grateful for the enormous difference they have made in the lives of countless Pointers. |

It was a very gratifying experience for all members of PWC who took part in today's Eye Camp for our retired Teachers. The smooth operation was possible because of the sense of time and responsibility, which has now become a hallmark of all PWC volunteers. Not a miss, not a slip, not a hiccup anywhere! The PWC team had worked relentlessly for days and weeks to bring today's Teachers Reunion to fruition. About one hundred and twenty Teachers were invited to this event. Additionally, numerous ex-Pointers came together to share many memorable moments over lunch and an afternoon of singing, recitation, speeches and nostalgia. The participants (i.e., performers) in the events included both Teachers and ex-students. Many Teachers were visibly overwhelmed upon realizing the depth of their ex-students' regard for them. And several Teachers were generous in their expressions of happiness, to say the least. [Click here for photos.] |
